Lithological description Heterolithic formation made of conglomerate, sandstone, siltstone, shale and impure limestone, reddish to greenish.
Age Eifelian
Thickness 120 m in the type area, rapidly decreasing eastwards.
Area of occurrence Northern limb of the Dinant Synclinorium, fully developed west of the Samson River valley.
Type locality No good section exposes the entire formation. The Rouillon Member is exposed along the Namur-Dinant road at Rivière on the left bank of the Meuse River. The stratotype of the Claminforge Member is situated along the disused railway south of Aisemont.
