Lithological description Cryoturbated complex composed of peaty, peaty-loam layers and sandy intercalations with flint fragments. The unit is situated 5 to 10m above the main river. The peat layers contain the pollen Azolla filiculoides (Vanhoorne, 1961; De Groote, 1967).
Age Middle Pleistocene, Holsteinian.
Thickness Up to 5m.
Area of occurrence Schelde basin.
Type locality Melle, waterway incision.
