Lithological description
Grey marl and silty clay, often laminar. Locally, limonitic nodules.
Age
Ethe Formation is limited to Pliensbachian, and generally corresponds to the Prodactylioceras davoei Zone (Maubeuge, 1954).
Thickness
The thickness of the formation varies between 20 and 25 m in the west of the Belgian Luxemburg. In the eastern area, it can reach about 50 m.
Area of occurrence
Belgian Lorraine.
Type locality
Latour borehole; good outcrop in a old brick-factory, Toernich street, Arlon.
